Volunteers are the heart, soul and muscle of the Food Bank. We could never make it happen without you. Last year, more than 15,000 volunteers gave 65,000 hours. It would take 31 full-time staff members to carry out this work! Click here to see the Honor Roll showcasing the top businesses, schools, civic organizations, religious groups and individuals who volunteer at the Food Bank.
Want to volunteer at the Food Bank? Schedule a shift in the garden, at our Product Rescue Center or even at a special event.
Tops in Taste
Q. Where can you taste the latest from Atlanta’s best restaurants, catch Bravo TV’s “Top Chef” head judge Tom Colicchio in action and help end childhood hunger?
A: Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, benefitting the Food Bank and other local hunger relief organizations. Having rightfully gained its reputation as the premier epicurean event of the year, “Taste” is eagerly anticipated every spring. Get the list of 50 top Atlanta restaurants participating in the 20th annual Taste of the Nation and purchase your tickets today as this event will sell out early!
I Scream, You Scream
We all scream for ice cream! Bring the family to Bruster’s now through April 19, and make a $2.00 donation to the Peanut Butter Express. All monies collected will build a truckload of peanut butter for the Food Bank. For every $2 donation, you’ll get a reward of .50 cents off a Peanut Butter Cup Sundae!
Gather Together
Join Atlanta's hospitality and meeting professionals on April 15th at “The Gathering,” to benefit Atlanta’s Table, a project of the Food Bank. Hosted by the Georgia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, this event features live art performers, interactive games and sumptuous food! Get more details on The Gathering at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and purchase tickets.
Be Inspired
Food security for everyone requires a culture of sustainablity and respect for our environment. Inspiring Futures presents The Bioneers Southeast Forum, bringing together the best minds in Metro Atlanta to explore sustainability issues and more. Learn more about the Bioneers Forum happening this weekend, April 11-13 at the Interdenominational Theological Center.
You Did It
We gave you the challenge and you accomplished it! We not only met, but exceeded, our first-ever online $10,000 challenge. Thanks to you, we were able to raise $19,310. Add the $10,000 challenge for a grand total of $29,310. This will make a tremendous difference for families and individuals struggling to keep food on the table. Thank you!
